Lewis Hamilton has signed a two-year contract extension with Mercedes, keeping him in Formula 1 until at least the end of the 2023 season. The deal was completed in a much more straightforward manner than his protracted talks over a 2021 agreement, and it comes against a backdrop of Mercedes facing its toughest challenge yet since it became the dominant force in F1.
