Why Red Bull can't copy Mercedes' DAS F1 innovation
Most Formula 1 teams were expected to have their own versions of Mercedes dual-axis steering concept ready after just a few races of the 2020 season - before so many races were called off. The delay means any team that wants to develop it will have it on their cars before the new first round, potentially costing Mercedes a key early-season advantage. But as Mark Hughes and Edd Straw explain here, don't expect to see DAS appear on the Red Bull. Perhaps that explains why Red Bull was expected to protest Mercedes at the Australian Grand Prix if that had gone ahead?
